14歳でドラムを習い始め、その後米軍キャンプで演奏を始める。独学でベースをマスターし'64年よりプロとして活動を開始。ペドロ＆カプリシャス他、数多くのバンドで活躍。'73年より3年間渡米。帰国後、数々のスタジオワーク、また、'80年ネイティブ・サン、その後、竜童組に参加。その他、ジョニー吉長、CHAR、忌野清志郎、等、参加したセッションバンドは数知れない。

４歳からピアノを始める。その頃流行っていた黒人音楽に面白さを感じ、中学時代から曲を作り高校時代に弾き語りライブを始める。大学卒業後、音楽活動を開始。CM音楽制作、自己のリーダーユニットライブ活動、作曲、編曲などに携わる。Sky Perfect TV「Eco Music Colors」の楽曲提供など、その音楽活動は多岐に及ぶ。2012年10月に1st オリジナルアルバム・臼田美穂 | ウスダミホ「表象（representation）」をmiumusic recordsより発表。
